Kaplan International: Liverpool 30+
40+ English Courses are special English language programs designed for people over 40. They offer you the chance to learn English in an overseas location, with other mature students. The course will help you to boost your communication, reading and writing skills and build your confidence when in English-speaking countries.
A light course load of 20 General English lessons (15 hours of tuition) and three organized social events a week means you’ll get a good balance of lessons and sightseeing, and get the chance to mingle with other mature students of different nationalities. Accommodation options are diverse and can be adapted to suit individual needs.
General English classes
Our experienced teachers are all certified and qualified in teaching English and our lesson content and curricula are carefully designed to improve students' reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. You will join students of all nationalities and ages in classes which correspond to your level of English. On your first morning, you will take a Kaplan International College test to make sure that your level of English is correctly assessed and you are put in the right class.
Activities
You will enjoy a varied programme of social activities in the company of other students from your age group. Our Classic Programme social activities schedules are drawn up specifically with the 40+ age group in mind. Typical weekday activities include visits to Bath Abbey, the Victoria Art Gallery and the Jane Austen Centre, a traditional cream tea at Sally Lunn’s House, a visit to the Thermae Spa Centre and a boat trip on the River Avon. Local excursions to Bristol, Stonehenge or Bradford-upon-Avon can also be included. Recent destinations for Classic Programme full-day excursions have been to Oxford, Stratford-on-Avon, and Salisbury.

All the world once flowed through the port of Liverpool: coffee, sugar, silk – and people all passed through Britain’s gateway to the Atlantic. Liverpool’s legacy of seafaring and trade is tangible in the stark grandeur of the Victorian docks and warehouses and the extravagant buildings created to display the wealth of the city’s Edwardian merchants and bankers. And you can sense its history as a cultural melting pot in the music with which Liverpool continues to reach out to the world.
Our English school is just a short walk from the Royal Liver Building, from whose roofs the mythical Liver Birds watch over the town – and the Cavern Club, where the Beatles first performed.
Regularly organizes trips to the famous Anfield stadium, home to Liverpool Football Club
