Course description

Our Intensive English Program (IEP) consists of five levels. Each level is comprised with four courses with the exception of the Advanced level which is composed of four sets of two courses and the Test Preparation level which has two courses. The length of each course is 6 weeks and therefore 24 weeks are required to complete each level in the beginner, intermediate, high intermediate and advanced levels. Twelve weeks are necessary to complete the Test Preparation level. However, enrollment in the Test Preparation courses is not mandatory for program completion; students who complete the advanced level may choose whether or not to take the TOEFL preparation courses.

Each level guarantees practice in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Apart from the well-selected materials for students’ theme-based learning, real-life supplementary activities are also provided in the classroom. Lessons are planned with much attention on interaction and a high emphasis on verbal communication throughout the curriculum. We also offer conversation clubs and opportunities to visit local events to practice English language skills.

This program is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) and upholds the CEA Standards for English Language Programs. To verify the ongoing accreditation of NLS please visit https://cea-accredit.org/accredited-sites

This program is F-1 visa compliant and is authorized by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) to enroll F-visa non-immigrants. To verify the ongoing authorization eligibility of NLS you may visit https://studyinthestates.dhs.gov/school-search

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying full time in the United States for more than 18 hours per week, you will receive an I-20 that you need to submit to the US embassy along with your F-1 student visa application. The I-20 has a SEVIS tracking number on it. Students who wish to apply for a student visa must pay the SEVIS fee online before going to the US embassy or consulate for their visa interview.

Your I-20 will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged $75 when you register.

Please note that United States law states that an I-20 can only be issued to students who intend to pursue full-time English language studies. United States law does not permit students to study part-time with an F-1 Student Visa. If you are studying for less than 18 hours per week, you have to apply for a Visitor Visa (B1/B2) on your own.
