Course description

At Anglo-Continental our English for Medical Professionals course combines:

20 lessons of intensive general English tuition with 10 lessons each week developing the language of your chosen specialisation.

The course is suitable for both Doctors and Nurses and other medical professionals.

The essential English language used in this course is listed below:

Communication with patients and medical staff
Explaining medical procedures
Conducting medical examinations
Taking histories and writing reports
The hospital environment
Care of medical and surgical patients
Working within specialties
Authentic medical films
Medication – side effects, dosages and contra-indications
Using medical documents

Your teachers will have background knowledge of the subject of your choice and will use a wide variety of methods and materials.

Outside your scheduled timetable you will be able to use the multi-media centre.

I liked the location of the school and the facilities were good except the classrooms and the hallways and the computer study room as they were not clean and the room furniture and carpet were very old and uncomfortable
I liked the teachers.
The homestay had a problem for me because they were far from the school, in the 2nd house I didn't like the food even though the room was better than the first house.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from . Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
