Melbourne, a city generally known as Australia's cultural capital is the country's second largest city and a great home base for tourists looking to explore the nearby regions of Phillip Island, the Great Road, and Grampians National Park. Not only is Melbourne home to great restaurants and cafes in areas like South Yarra, Fitzroy, and Williamstown, but it also has unique boutiques and markets to roam around while you explore the city. Melbourne is also a city that goes crazy for its "footy" as the locals call it-- or the AFL, Australian Football League, for those who can't quite grasp the lingo. If you plan to study English courses in Melbourne, you'll have to save time for exploring the city center, as well, since it is an original and delicate blend of old and new architecture. Melbourne is the perfect city for those looking to expand their cultural horizons and venture through an exciting cosmopolitan city.
