Founded in 1964, CAVILAM (Centre d’Approches Vivantes des Langues et des Médias) was established by the municipality of Vichy and the universities of Clermont-Ferrand. In 2012, it joined the international network of the Alliance française, becoming CAVILAM - Alliance française. Setting a global standard: The institute has gained an international reputation for its pedagogical innovation. Each year it plays host to nearly 4,000 foreign students from over 110 nationalities.
